Your Own Leader

What you believe is what you become. What you see in yourself is what you will put forward.

I often asked myself over the years what qualities I found inspiring in others. Finding myself drawn towards natural born leaders. The catalyst of their own happenings. The eye of their own storms. The humble warriors who persevered forged their own path without a map to guide them.

Once again I looked at my life, I saw so many things that I wanted to accomplish. Somehow I was waiting… Waiting for what? Why did I believe that someone was going to come around and create the journey for me. I wanted a leader who would praise my efforts and challenge me in ways I never could imagine. I wanted someone to take me out of my own comfort level. Someone who believed in me and gave me a mission and a purpose.

I knew it wouldn’t be easy. I knew that if I stood for myself alone that there would be hard times where I did not have someone else to take accountability for my actions.

Having the ability to think and make choices for ourselves is not only a privilege , but imperative to expanding the greatness of the universe. I challenge you to make your choices, your morals, ethics for yourself. Question authority.. Ask yourself every day if what your being told by others aligns with you. Be Your Own Leader.

When you know you know

All the knowledge you have has accumulated over lifetimes. It has brought you to this moment.

Trusting instincts will always come naturally. It is the light inside that guides us all on our highest path.

The best practice is to listen to this instinctual voice. It is a gift when you feel it come to you. By no process can you receive this natural power to sense what is right and wrong. Listen to your mind and listen to your instincts. Watch how often your mind betrays your own natural innate voice.

I promise it will not shout, it will not make a scene, although your gut feeling will tell you directly.  There will be pulsing sensation that runs through the body.

This voice resides in the heart, not the mind. The mind will try to be logical, reasonable, sensible. Your intuition is not a product of the mind. The heart will tell you your truth.

Ask yourself this? In any given situation do you listen to your intuition? do you let thought talk you out of it?

Manifesting a new reality is hard sometimes when you are going against your mind’s processes.

Wake up for that 6am run. Because your intuition tells you it is right, it is what is good for you. Don’t listen to the mind that tells you to get more sleep.

Many times, success in life is in our hands, but we choose to deny that instinctual pull towards greatness.

It mind seem scary to betray the mind that tells you to stay in your comfort zone. Have a little faith in your soul voice. Give it a chance to awaken what conditioned thought practice cannot. When you know, you know.

The Blogger Recognition Award

Hi Loves!

Maraym ( Check out her blog here) nominated me for The Blogger Recognition Award. Thank you dear soul for fearlessly going forth in your dreams and finding my blog! If you get a chance, please stop by her blog , Infinitely a Day Dreamer. XXX

Wow, so excited to be apart of a community of writers who uplift and honor other writers.

Here its is! Rules:
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and leave a link to their blog.
2. Write a post to show the award.
3. Give a little backstory on how your blog first started.
4. Share two pieces of advice you think new bloggers should know.
5. Nominate five other bloggers for the award and leave a comment on one of
their posts to let them know, along with a link to your award post.

I have always been a creative soul. I love the peaceful nature of going into your mind +body +soul to find inspiration to bring anything into life. I was feeling like I had so many ideas and thoughts floating around that wanted to be poured out. I have always been starving for good conversation. A place that my voice felt like home.

So, I decided to start my own conversations about all the things I was inspired by, about all the topics I wanted to know more about, but really I started this blog with the desire to reach out to souls through words.

I started this blog in September of 2016. It has been a very slow start. Mostly because everything about Savage Butterflies has been a product of my own time and research. I have learned that truly the most important thing about blogging is just to keep writing, keep the inspiration flowing. The same as life.  There will always be the technicalities of life, but the most important thing is to keep the magic alive.

Two pieces of advice I would offer bloggers:

Share what is real and true for you. Do not write about anything that does not make you feel the creative fire. Everything I post on blog comes from my soul. Even if it is not spiritual or magical, each post reflects something I am passionate about sharing. Staying true to your voice always will help to mold your voice into a strong and confident flow of words that will always be authentic and true.

Do not worry about how many people view your blog. I know it is really hard. It is absolutely okay to rejoice in each one of your followers that chooses to include your page in their collection of things to read. Just know that no number will ever define the quality of your words, and the connections that you do create with each individual readers.

So I would be so honored to nominate these blogs with this special award:

Natalies Alchemy: Blog Interview

One of the biggest satisfactions I receive through blogging is connecting and learning from other women. When I first stumbled upon Natalie’s Alchemy , I felt like my soul had an immediate resting place. She is a personal development enthusiast, holistic health teacher, and promoter of sustainability.  I was completely drawn to the simplicity of her page, yet each one of her writings seemed to captivate me. Her posts all consist of amazing guides to finding your most highest and empowered self. She is creative in the way she makes you ask yourself questions about the life you live. In the majority of her posts, she includes her own personal goals and struggles so you can feel her “down to Earth” energy.  I was so inspired by her writing and design that I collaborated with her.

I have asked Natalie a few questions to get to know her better, so If you decide to go check out her amazing blog, then you will also have a more intimate understanding of the author herself.

Where are you from Natalie?
I’m from a small town in southern California, which is an hour away from Los Angeles. I actually still reside here even though my younger self had desperately wanted to get away and move across the world. Now though I appreciate my small town, and although I appreciate it now. I’d like to move to another small town somewhere that’s green with less taxes and traffic… I’m thinking Oregon.

What are you most passionate about?
I tend to be passionate about many things, but the passion of one thing alternates with another. Sometimes in a cycle. I think my underlying passion that hasn’t came and went is my passion to help people help themselves and to be a steward of the earth.

What makes you feel the most empowered?
This is going to sound funny, but I feel most empowered when I’m training jiu jitsu with men who are pretty big and have trained for years. When I can keep up, it makes me feel unstoppable.

What are your biggest dreams for yourself and how will you use your dreams to help others achieve theirs?
My biggest dream for myself is to have a successful business of holistic health. I’d like to be a holistic health coach and thus, I’ll help people become their best self. In term of success of my business, I’d also like to have a blog that is very well known. This way I can help people across the world, and also teach people about the zero-waste movement and ways that we can help the earth.

What has been one of your challenges/ struggles that you go through or had to overcome in order to achieve your dream?
My greatest challenge, which I’m still experiencing is kicking off my blog and reaching viewers. I’ve also had a blip with my holistic health career. I feel like I had wasted my time trying to become a teacher for non English speakers, and I wish I had known what I was truly passionate about, so that I could have started my journey right after high school. But, I have to accept that I can never start my journey too late. And, that my experiences have led me to realize what I am passionate about.

What has led you to be most passionate about ______?
So many experiences have contributed me to be passionate about helping others help themselves and being a steward of the earth. For the former, I’ve always enjoyed helping people in some form or another. Whether that was giving romantic advice or helping someone through the process of figuring out what career they wanted. Recently, I love helping people with their fitness goals and regimens. So, I think I have this innate drive to help people. For the latter, I had always had a deep appreciation of nature, and it wasn’t until I started learning about waste and carbon footprint that I knew that as an individual, I could help restore nature.

Thank you Natalie for taking the time to share with me and the community.

I am so looking forward to all the amazing connections ahead, and so thankful I can share this journey with all of you.

Monday Meditation: Just Be. Just for Today

Step outside my emotional body for today. Just feel the elements kiss every part of my physical body. For today, do not be anyone. Just be.

Daydream. Write. Create. Do not rush. Enjoy. Love every atom that makes up what is right in front of me.

Touch, smell, listen. Open my heart to every human. Become a sanctuary for peace. Just for today.

Let my ego disappear. Today I do not have to please anyone. Opinions are beyond my understanding.

I won’t be distracted by concrete creations. Today, I will flow with nature. The rain is a blessing.

I’m so exhausted by the state of pure existence. Today I will fuel the connection. My breath will become part of the fresh air.

The kind of living that drives the soul to be filled with pure gratitude.

MY 5 Ways to Stay Health Motivated

Over the last year I have made some exceptional changes to respecting the areas of Mind + Body+ Soul.  It began with a commitment to the journey. Recognizing that all the small changes make the big differences.  These practices may come easily to some, while for others it may seem like a huge mountain to climb.  Regardless of your perception, every step made towards wellness is not wasted. The best part about the health journey is it is all positive!

I want to share my top 5 ways to stay motivated to my personal self care journey. It may differ for everyone as we all get our inspiration from different areas!

It might be a favorite athlete that you look up to. It might be a quote from Pinterest (find me Savage Butterflies for Piunterest Inspo). Social media makes really easy to find images, quotes, inspiring stories of others on their health journey. I found a few girls that I really looked up to which really helps during times when there is lack of motivation ( avoiding comparison, more inspiration).

It is very important to keep a journal or checklist of daily, weekly, monthly goals that you are striving for in your life. If you achieve it in a day that’s amazing! If not, try for the week, and slowly move beyond your weekly goals to monthly and yearly. Writing your goals down ultimately helps your mind and soul move the body in the direction you are intending to. You will begin to see yourself crushing goals and making new ones, looking back on the progress you have made and further motivating yourself to push your limits.

Many times when I speak to people who want to make a change in their life, they seem discouraged like it would be impossible to change the direction things are going. The truth is, it’s not! The most important thing to practice is continually trading old habits with new ones.  If you want to feel mentally clear and energized, can you give up heavy foods and drinking? If you want to get better at a sport, can you make time to practice? The most important skill I continually work on is putting in the work to make the goals happen.

Being healthy DOES NOT mean you have to be boring. Choose activities, foods, friends  that make it feel good while you are following the path to your goals. All the workouts I do are enjoyable. I love working out at the beach in the sun and sand, getting my salty air fix while breaking a sweat. Get involved with a community of individuals that enjoy doing the same activities. For example, I belong to a yoga studio that feels like family where we all encourage each other in yoga and life’s challenges. Make healthy food that still tastes good. Find new recipes and keep trying new ones until you find what works for you.

Positivity breeds more positivity. Every time you engage in any action or choice that is alignment with your goals, small or big, give yourself a load of kind words! You deserve it! Health and wellness is a non negotiable part of living life to the fullest. Each step is a step towards greatness that should be appreciated. The more you talk positive to yourself, the more motivating it will be to continue doing those same actions.

Always feel free to comment or message me with any questions or support in your journey. We are all in this together, continually inspiring each other to move higher.
