Growing up, I was the protector. I was always looking out for the liars and cheaters of the world. It consumed me.
With every human interaction, I quickly analyzed each word. Each aspect of personality was under my observation. Quickly determining if this person was worth letting in. Using my judgments of past observations and experiences to decide if my heart would be open or closed.
Don’t get me wrong. It is natural and human to protect, and observe. These skills should be used in a logical and sensible way to ensure physical and mental saftey.
It was when this process became a tool for the ego. The ego uses these judgments to see if a person’s actions, opinions, thoughts are harmful to the ego.
This process is completely and utterly draining. It takes away that everything that love offers to the soul. Carrying swords, ready to use whenever someone is not quite what you would like. When someone makes you feel a bit uncomfortable. When someone begins to break apart that ego sense of self that you have held on so tightly.
The ego is not always apparent. The ego makes you think you are strong, but not in all the ways that represent true strength and honor. It is a false sense of strength. You may be confident in your ability to accept challenges, and able to navigate solutions through life’s problems. You might always take on hard tasks, and have the strength to conquer the hardest of situations.
These characteristics are empowering. They are a wonderful curation of all the past traumas and hardships to create this strength. But let me tell you this. It is only if all this strength is backed by a sense of unwavering pateience, and unconditional love that your strength can be held with honor.
There is a verse in Shakespeare’s Hamlet that says:
‘ What should be thy fear? I do not set my life in a pin’s fee. And as for my soul– what should can it do to that, being a thing as immortal as itself. It waves me forth again. I’ll follow it’
It is your strength that is bold and without swords.
Have you ever woke up with that sense of lightness and the feeling of energy flowing immediately. It feels like the weight of the world has been lifted off your bones and now rests gently at your fingertips. I never could find the words within me, an explanation behind this, but I craved the sensation. Similar to electricity in my veins, but more fluid. It’s like everything in my being is in alignment with life itself. That feeling is the power of CHI
Call it what you will: chi, mana, prana. It is the life force within each and every being. Your personal vibration. Tuning into this life force is the essential key to harnessing a powerful force within you. A force so strong that it manifests through everything else you do. Tapping into awareness of these frequencies requires maintaining and raising consciousness through your life. Believe it or not, it actually radiates around you, creating a sensational field of energy around you.
I began noticing what brought a lightness to my life. I took mental note as to what I needed to create this space to allow the chi to flow. It became clear that the only way to keep my slate clean and ready for each moment was to sit and mediate. To choose to respectfully make the time to allow the present moment to work. Breath work is the most simple and effective way to begin to channel your chi. I am constantly scanning my mind, body, and soul. I take each inhale and exhale to open the channels. I use to breath like yin and yang. As if on a cellular level, I am allowing all the essential nutrients in, and expelling all the unnecessary thoughts, stories, stresses. Find the balance in between the light and shadow side.
The other important practice to channeling your chi is the physical. In my personal experience, this practice is asanas of yoga. It helps me to manifest the power with my bones, muscles, joints to access all the stale energy to create new sparks every day of freshness. Each asana represents something different, releasing and manifesting. Just the same as inhale and exhale with the breath. Find a physical practice that does the same for you. With this practice, always remember that it is a sacred place for you to come to at any time without judgement and competition.
Like most things in life, it will not always be easy. You may not always want to create the space out of fear or blocks in the mind. The most encouraging concept is the one that all energy cannot be added or deleted, but transformed. Switching from negative to positive. Renewing and channeling your power to higher potentials.
Ask yourself these questions:
What is draining you of your internal life force? Relationship, job, financial stress, material obsession, striving for perfection?
What makes you vibrate higher and louder? Passion, connection, alone time?
Do you take the time that is necessary to keep the channels open in your mind, body and soul?
With everything else in life, channeling your chi takes time to learn. Be patient with yourself. Be open. Be honest with yourself. Feel your chi release, and let the vibes flow.
You are one with the sun, the ocean, the Earth. The cosmos have aligned everything for your perfect destiny. Trust that life is not happening to you, but that you are an embodiment of life itself bound to experience and learn.
Begin to connect with every aspect of life and feel the power of every collective energy. The connection is the essence of opening the vessel of all opportunities. A beautiful field of wisdom awaits. Smile at a stranger, touch the sand, tickle a dogs ear. Know that all these actions will be received and returned graciously upon your soul.
The soul grows in many different ways and directions. By slowing down, becoming in tune with yourself, envisioning your soul as the brightest light possible you are armed with valuable soul tools to share with the world. The world really is just a collective energy of everything so by raising the light in any one thing it creates a ripple effect.
BE LIGHT. It matters to everyone. It matters to yourself. The collective energy matters. Create your own ripple. It will be returned like the waves crashing back to the sand. Time and time again, the dancing rhythms of the collective souls will cycle over and over.
